We are still open during these uncertain times and have put in place extra cleaning processes to ensure we do our best to keep our staff and our customers safe.

If you’re buying a second-hand car, the last thing you want is to be stuck with a lemon.

Before making a decision, you’re going to want to make sure your potential purchase is roadworthy – not only for your safety and peace of mind, but also to ensure it meets the requirements for registration.

At Speedie Auto, a pre-purchase vehicle inspection involves raising the vehicle on jacks to conduct a thorough examination of all mechanical components. Bodywork, paintwork and understructure are also examined for evidence of any damage or unsatisfactory repair work.

The interior and electrical components are checked, and the vehicle’s electronic control unit tested for any fault codes. This is followed up by a road test to ensure that nothing has been missed. You’ll then be provided with a comprehensive inspection report.

When it comes to pre-purchase car inspections, Sydney buyers come to Speedie Auto for thorough, reliable checks and professional advice they can trust.

RMS Registration Inspections

Speedie Auto is also an Authorised Inspection Station licensed by NSW Roads and Maritime Services to conduct checks and submit reports related to registering your vehicle.

A Vehicle Safety Check is a safety inspection report that indicates if your car is roadworthy. All vehicles more than five years old require a safety check as a condition of registration renewal. Your registration renewal notice will advise if your vehicle needs an inspection.

If the check is successful, a report (often called a roadworthy certificate or RWC) is sent to the RMS electronically, allowing you to renew your rego online or by phone. This is known as an eSafety Check.

If your vehicle fails the safety check, you will be issued with a rejection slip called a Repairs Required Report (formerly known as a white slip). This details the repairs required before your vehicle can be registered. Once the repairs are carried out and you have the vehicle successfully re-inspected, you will receive the relevant slip to renew or reinstate or your rego.

e-Safety Check (Pink Slip)

All vehicles more than five years old require a safety inspection as a condition of registration renewal. An e-Safety inspection report (or a ‘pink slip’ report) can be sent to the RTA electronically, allowing you to renew your rego online or by phone. You must visit an e-Safety Check Inspection Station to get your e-Safety Check.

Speedie Auto offers e-Safety inspection reports to existing customers with up-to-date service history. For brand new customers, e-Safety inspection reports are only offered alongside a regular car service – this is so that we get to know your vehicle and can complete a proper safety check.

Blue Slip

The blue slip can be organised if necessary.

Driving an unregistered vehicle attracts on-the-spot fines, so ensure that your vehicle is compliant.

Driving an unregistered vehicle is an offence that can have serious legal and financial consequences. Find out more on the NSW Roads and Maritime Services website, or book an appointment with Speedie Auto for your RMS inspection today on (02) 9663 2701.
